Happy Monday all, with so much going on in this world of ours I wanted to remind everyone to start their week with kindness. Recruiters- respond to candidates you haven't gotten back to or try and give feedback to those who have not received them. Companies- please focus on candidate and employee experience, I promise we do not take this lightly and we all appreciate it more than you know. Job seekers- if it has not worked yet, your application process or your current resume, then please do something different. It makes all the difference in the world to have resumes specific to industry or seniority of a role as long as it is still representative of work you've done. Those employed- if you know someone with a green banner posting, please share their posts! If you know someone who can benefit from you referring them, please refer them. If your company is hiring and you see the job posting, share it on your feed! But all of us, let's be good people and continue to progress together. Have a great week ahead! Cheers! #kindness

I attended a fascinating and informative meeting with the Atlanta Recruiter Community last night where Nick Battista better educated us on WTF is happening in the labor market. 🤷‍♀️   Some key takeaways, insights, observations 🎯   GDP is down, probably won’t improve until early 2025, companies are not going to be over hiring. 😭   In 2021, hiring skyrocketed, big demand for staffing, teams grew. 💹   Late 2022, everything changed, many more job openings and much less hires, employers would post jobs, but not hire, they let their budgets expire due to being too afraid to hire. 📉   We are not in a recession because not the entire economy is being affected: ·      Hiring industries: construction, transportation, healthcare, financial, hospitality ·      Not hiring industries: mining, manufacturing, information technology Wage growth only grew < 1% over the last few years. Salaries are not increasing. 💲 Profile of those laid-off in 2022-2023: ·      56% = female ·      28% = HR/talent services (most employees in HR are female) ·      22% = software engineers ·      48% = 30-40 years old Factors influencing demand: 1.    High interest rates. Fast rate hikes lead to extra costs in borrowing & operations; companies cut staff to maintain costs. 💰 2.    Election year. This is a fact every 4 years. 🗳 3.    Economic recovery. Spending is tight, prices of everything are higher and increased faster than what we’re used to; companies slower to hire. 💱 So now, when someone asks you WTF is happening in this brutal, crazy, depressing job market, you have some talking points.

🚀 Reflecting on the First Half of the Year: Strategic Leadership Session Recap 🚀 Last week, I had the privilege of hosting a strategic session with my direct reports who hold leadership roles within our division. Reflecting on our phenomenal growth in the first half of the year, we focused on strategies to capitalize on this success and ensure a continued strong second half. We kept asking the question, “What can we do as leaders to maximize success for our teams over the next 90 days and next 6 months?” The biggest theme of our discussion was acknowledging our role as leaders in removing obstacles for our teams. As Garry Ridge, former CEO of WD-40 Company and active Eastridge Workforce Solutions board member, emphasizes, our primary responsibility is to create an environment where people can thrive. Effective leaders should focus on eliminating barriers and fostering a culture that encourages efficiency and innovation. By removing these obstacles, we empower our teams to drive efficiency and “make big happen.” As Ridge often highlights, a leader’s job is not just to lead but to facilitate the success of their people, ensuring they have the tools and support needed to excel. Moving forward, our commitment is to continue cultivating a supportive environment where challenges are met with solutions and every team member feels empowered to contribute to our collective success. The new rule is set to go into effect 120 days after publication in the federal register. Curious to see how companies respond to this in the coming months and if it results in more competitive offerings for employees.

The day and meeting: May 30th All TA Team Meeting on a zoom call. I was reporting on our teams success sharing that after a year of building out the first COE where recruiters and sources were working as a team - communicating and partnering like Sourcers and Recruiters should be. I felt a huge sense of pride and then...waterworks. while on camera letting every recruiter, my boss, and my peer that I was extremely proud of our teams. I got myself together and started talking again until I couldn't...b/c the tears came back. No one said anything except my peer who knew what I wanted to say and continued for me. For me that is when I knew, the team understood. I have never in my many years as an employee cry in front of others. It was a first. There were so many emotions going through my head. But, I knew it was OK as I was comfortable doing what I did. I was like a proud parent and I couldn't help it. Did I mention how proud I am of my team? #recruiting #meetings #talentacquisition #hr
