José is a seasoned government relations professional who has been working in government, lobbying, and the political arena for more than 35 years. He is passionate about representing public and private sector clients in environmental, public safety, infrastructure, health care, engineering, construction, food services, and water resources at the federal, state, and local levels. He has successfully advocated for various clients securing close to a billion dollars in his professional career.

As a Senior Corporate and Government Relations Director at Becker & Poliakoff, P.A., José leverages his extensive network of contacts and his public policy expertise to help his clients achieve their goals and objectives. He has worked with clients such as the City of Miami, Motorola Solutions, NV2A Group, Sound Thinking, and Mitsubishi on various procurement, business, and community pursuits, such as the Automated Traffic Management System, the Public Service Communication, the Underline Project, Gun Shot Detection, and the Asian American Pacific Islander History Legislation. He is also actively involved on several boards and organizations, such as the Japan American Society (Miami/ South Florida), the United Way of Miami, US Japan Council, Miami Kagoshima Sister Cities, the Greater Miami Chamber, Homestead Housing Authority and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fdn. Board, where he contributes his knowledge and experience.

He has helped lead seven Delegations from Miami and Miami Dade County to his Mother’s homeland of Japan. Helping bring key political leaders to Japan to learn about technology, transportation, security, renewable energy and cultural exchange. He was recognized by the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) with a commendation for his work in helping to strengthen the relationship between the U.S., Florida, Japan and Latin America.

A Miamian who calls Coconut Grove home. He is truly proud of his Japanese and Cuban heritage. An avid runner who has participated in 37 full Marathons, 50+ Half Marathons and numerous additional races (5K, 10k and 15k). Most importantly he is Christinas' Dad.
