https://lnkd.in/ge_yWzmS My Daily Bread (Day 50) - Blessed to Serve Others Ephesians 2:8-10, Proverbs 11:24-25 [NKJV] I truly believe that the best teachers in our life is always experience (be it bad or good). But usually, it is through our difficult/challenging times in life that we learn the most important lessons. For me, my greatest lesson this season is about being a blessing unto others. It is also about generosity, kindness and compassion. It has been a reminder that when we are in a better position in life, we have an obligation to be of service towards others who could benefit from it. God didn't bless us with more so that we can keep it all for ourselves. God has blessed each of us so that we could (at the right times) be a blessing to those that could benefit from it. It is through receiving other people's kindness and compassion that I learned the important lesson/reminder of the power of giving freely. And even though my circumstances are only starting to improve right now, I've learned to see that we don't need to have more in order to start being a blessing to others. Right now, there are already things in our lives that we can use to be a blessing unto others. We can offer others a ride, or even use our time and energy to help tutor someone's child so their parent can focus on working from home. There are so many things that you and I can start doing today. This is great advice. Having a growth mindset also means not settling for where you're at. Always strive for improvement. The only time we fail from mistakes is not learning from them.

Thursday, June 20 Saying vs. Knowing. "If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear. But certainly God has heard me; He has attended to the voice of my prayer." Psalm 66:18-19   Why are witnesses in a courtroom required to swear to tell “the whole truth” when they testify? So that what they say is true matches up with what they know to be true. If they are found to be lying—saying one thing but knowing another—they can be convicted of perjury and suffer serious penalties. Recommended Reading: Isaiah 1:15 A judge and jury cannot see into a witness’ heart or mind to tell whether or not the truth is being presented. But God can. In the Old Testament, there were clear warnings about coming before God in prayer while hiding sin in one’s heart. That is, attempting to act holy in prayer while being unholy in practice. In such cases, God turns a deaf ear to the prayers (Proverbs 15:29; 28:9; Isaiah 1:15; 59:1-2). And the same is said in the New Testament (1 Peter 3:12). The first step in prayer is confession leading to cleansing.             When you pray, ask the Holy Spirit to reveal anything that would hinder your prayers.   Prayer will make a man cease from sin, or sin will entice a man to cease from prayer.
