This groundbreaking program is dedicated to closing the gender gap and promoting equal opportunities for women in the labor market... The Kenya 2 Equal initiative aims to address these disparities by collaborating with companies to: Attract, Recruit, Retain, and Promote Women: Developing strategies to enhance female participation at all organizational levels. Strengthen the Business Case for Women’s Employment and Leadership: Demonstrating the economic benefits of gender diversity and promoting policies that support women's career advancement. Ipas RDC is conducting grassroots, indepth conversations with community leaders including #youth, #peoplewithdisabilities, #indigenouspopulations to tackle misinformation around the access to comprehensive SRHR services. The place of communities in the management of their health care has been touched during these consultations. No health system can achieve high quality services and health equity without the involvement and accountability role played by communities. They must be associated. Understanding that role was essential to this conversation. The health system framework comprises the CODESA or COSA as important community-participating-bodies entitled to work with the systems in continuously improving the quality, accessibility, acceptability, availability of health care services. It helps design resilient, contextualized health systems responding to the needs of users. The conversation about access to SRHR landed on #abortion as essential care. Several community members shared their experiences about complications, losses and infirmities people around them live due to unsafe abortion. They expressed the need for a health care framework integrating abortion care to be set up, in which they will play an instrumental role of refering, informing and supporting women and girls in need of abortion care. A widow who lost her 3 daughters in the battle of unsafe abortion complications inquired: "why didn't you come earlier? You could have saved the life of my 3 daughters". We agreed on working collaboratively towards a community where women and girls can benefit from the scientific progress in the field of health, including one the most essential and underserved care such as comprehensive abortion care using up-to-date technology approved by the #WHO https:// https://lnkd.in/enwGXk6r. Why are Aid or Development support packages not effective in South Sudan? 1. Government and communities wrong perceptions of aid/development support 2. Very little portion of aid/development fund goes to the intended final recipient ( communities/nation) 3. Long procurement, personnel hiring and activities implementation procedures 4. Planning rigidities (impact hypotheses developed at the comfort of offices with little regards to the voice of final stakeholders) 5. Short project life. 6. Climate/Environmental challenges 7. Political instability creating insecurity How to tackle Aid/development support projects' ineffectiveness is a thing to be answered by all involved in delivery and utility!

The lifespan of the #Malabo_Declaration is retiring, and the stakeholders are busy crafting a comprehensive successor agenda guided by the best evidence to shape the strategic direction to drive agri-food systems transformation globally for the next 10 years. CISANET Malawi commits to continue providing leadership among the non-state actors in agriculture policy analysis and advocacy. Day one(1) of two (2) of the Partners for Change (P4C) conference themed “Transformation to a Food Secure, Resilient and Sustainable Future,” focused on fostering south-south dialogue across countries and continents; and also linking global agendas on agricultural and food system with implementation on the ground. “Data and reporting to enhance evidence-based policy accountability” is one of the factors for better implementation of continental/regional agenda at the national level, suggests CISANET’s Acting National Director, Elizabeth Namaona. Notably, today is the final day of the P4C conference and she anticipates contributing to an independent Memorandum to the Post Malabo consultation process using the network’s lived experiences in the policy landscape over the years. Again, later in the day, she is expected to host a world café table dubbed “Regulations and Compliance within Supply Chains.” This session examines market interventions and policy actions needed for fostering inclusive and sustainable agricultural value chain development in the soya value chain in Benin, the cocoa in Ghana; and the coffee and tea in Ethiopia. This objective focuses on enhancing transparency and accountability in public offices. Strategies may include the empowering of independent anti-corruption bodies, enforcement of strict penalties for corrupt practices, and promotion of a culture of integrity within government institutions and the private sector.

Currently attending the 1st Zambia Agroecology Conference. Happy to note the growing momentum on having country Agroecology strategies as a climate resilient adaptation pathway in the current climate crisis. The current model has not been effective in addressing the complex issues of climate change, biodiversity loss, and environmental degradation. The call for a transformation towards a more holistic, inclusive, and environmentally friendly narrative aligns with a growing global awareness on the need for agroecology. There is Great need to push for countries to adopt Agroecology as a climate resilient adaptation approach within their National Determined Contributions (NDCs) and National Adaptiona Plans (NAPs). Agroecology is the future of farming and sustainable food systems.

Organisations and specialists urged to register on AfriForum’s Water Crisis Portal AfriForum is calling on organisations, engineers, specialists, and stakeholders involved in all aspects of water management to register on the civil rights organisation’s Water Crisis Portal (WCP). This initiative aims to update and expand AfriForum’s existing register of more than 600 specialists, engineers and companies already listed and thereby put together a comprehensive list of expertise and resources available to address the pressing water challenges currently facing South Africa. The organisation made a request to Deputy President Paul Mashatile and the Minister of Water and Sanitation, Senzo Mchunu, after Mashatile recently indicated that the national government is prepared to involve AfriForum and other role players in civil society in the government’s water task force. However, AfriForum has not yet received any communication. AfriForum believes that addressing the water crisis requires swift and decisive action from all stakeholders involved. Failure to act urgently not only prolongs the deterioration of communities affected by water shortages and access to clean water but also exacerbates the environmental and socio-economic impact of the crisis. The organisation remains committed to working with government officials, water experts and community representatives to find solutions to the water crisis. The organisation urges all stakeholders to prioritise collaboration and action to mitigate the impact of the crisis on communities and the environment.
