EFFECTIVE STYLE OF COMMS - Including… …NASCAR-like info boxes. In the comments of a related post, someone pointed out the « sensor error » that caused an over reporting of 3 degrees Celcius in India. Sensor, calibration, or validation error? This heat map is really nice. But it could be tweaked. 1) the legend’s font size is way too small. 2) the choice of colors leads to confusion. See how the oceans can be misleadingly suspected of being at 45 C (dark hue). 3) How is the data obtained As for the India article in « The Guardian », here is a tiny bit from it: « …Indian capital of 52.9C (127.22F) A) why are the one-letter unit codes not separated by a space, from the mathematical value? B) why do we go from 3 to 4 significant figures when expressing in Fahrenheit? C) how is the data generated, measured? D) What is the true resolution and accuracy, on the temperature « measuring devices »? Thanks for the post !

Days like these remind me of Kim Stanley Robinson's novel, The Ministry for the Future. As I travel through East Africa, I hear firsthand from locals about the profound impacts of climate change. Recently, severe floods hit the region, disproportionately affecting the poorest in rural and urban areas. Weeks after the storm, water levels around Lake Victoria remain about 3 meters higher than usual. We must accelerate #emissionreductions and support the growth of #carbonremoval solutions. By now everyone’s heard of the assassination attempt on the Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico, this morning. This is not an attempt to say what went wrong, for that there are far better experts than me, like Greg Williams, Brian Marren, Joseph LaSorsa, CPP, Christian West, Ivan Ivanovich, Gavin DeBecker, they literally wrote the books on the subject.
