“I worked with Nick for most of the Spring and Summer of 2018. I was a consultant to KFC and Nick was a newly hired Brand Manager. Nick and I collaborated on several projects during that period. Nick is extremely bright and his enthusiasm and thirst to learn is contagious. Nick had a “vertical” startup at KFC thanks in part to previous assignments at Unilever. Nick is mature in his thinking, listens well, integrates easily across numerous forums and quickly earns the trust of the Organization. I remain impressed with his Business Acumen related to both Food and Consumer products Businesses. ”

"The awards were created to showcase standout menu innovations in the restaurant industry, according to restaurant guest feedback. These innovations were impactful successes which kept guests engaged during a transitional year after the brunt of the pandemic. With this, this year’s overarching theme is reaching consumers where they are. Whether consumers were ready to come back to a brick-and-mortar location or if they wanted to stay home, these award winners went the extra mile to deliver what guests needed, where they needed it."

Blue Bunny Load'd Sundaes
"Blue Bunny was categorized as an Emerging Play winner, meaning the brand transformed its category by offering innovative benefits before becoming mainstream," said Ben Macedo, BASES Leader, Nielsen North America. "Emerging Plays tend to start out smaller, but with sufficient and thoughtful activation, they see larger growth long term, and that's what we've seen from Blue Bunny's Load'd Sundaes."

Judges Say:
"This is exactly the kind of package we had in mind when we created this category. The product itself is a clever combination of two iconic flavors, and the package KFC created to launch it fits the bill perfectly. Really, this packaging has it all: branding, functionality, convenience, and even manufacturing innovation. Bonus points for the audible click on closure. This is tops not only in the category, but in the entire competition."
