Served as Program Officer to create a new fund, the Open Places Initiative. This place-based program invests in three sites around the country to advance justice, equity, and democratic practice. Responsibilities included developing white papers, articulating the mission and vision of the fund, managing the RFP process, conducting site visits, analyzing finalist applications, planning convenings, and supporting grantee program development.

Prior to the Open Places Initiative, served as a Program Officer for the Democracy and Power Fund, where I managed a docket of over $10 million in grant making to national and local civic engagement and advocacy organizations. This included the monitoring and evaluation of grants, writing of proposal recommendations to the board, conducting due diligence and site visits, and leveraging OSF support with other national funders to scale investments. Conducted research, drafted analyses regarding municipal and federal policy issues. Monitored the Council's first grant program, a $14 million program addressing chronic unemployment.

Directed a multi-million dollar Robert Wood Johnson Foundation grant to build a national network of multi-sector professionals in support of active living and prevention of obesity.

Managed client accounts for outcomes that include capital campaigns, strategic direction, training development, and drafting white papers. Clients included The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Pride Foundation, Service Employees' International Union, and Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, Seattle Museum of Art.

Managed training and budget for staff and volunteers; coordinated get-out-the-vote events; planned events and built coalitions of diverse constituencies with unions and partner organizations in a presidential election swing state.
