Through Dan's Guidance, Thompson Creek was in a place to implement an infrastructure modernization project. The scope of the project was to create a faster, more efficient, redundant and scale able infrastructure that is cost effective and capable of handling the required resource load of four SAP solutions (CRM, VC, BCM, and HANA) as well as other shared networked services.
Phase One was to evaluate the existing service lay down and delivery capability, as well as the performance of the existing hardware solution. Key findings indicated that our current lay down is not scale able, and it would not be worth the investment to simply add additional like hardware to accumulate more raw resources in the virtual server farm.
Phase Two was geared around evaluated corporate growth goals both in the current MSAs serviced as well as in future potential markets to determine the best connectivity and WAN/LAN configuration based on load and transport requirements.
Phase Three was to architect proposed solution options and determine their efficacy in both virtual machine support capability/storage as well as layer 2 and LAN based connectivity.
