Couldn't help but brainstorm how I imagine leveraging the smarter Siri with Apple Intelligence: ☀️ Morning stand-ups with Siri to prep for the day (e.g., “You have an ELT presentation at 12 PM; review it beforehand. Schedule time at 11:30?”). 🔕 Turning off ALL messaging notifications, and get morning, mid-day, and evening summaries of missed SMS, Slack, and email messages instead. 👥 Automating outreach to my network for quarterly or bi-annual check-ins. 📝 No more worrying about the perfect note-taking app—I’ll jot my thoughts down anywhere and just have Siri compile and summarize everything into one place with follow up actions (ie Tasks or Meeting invites created) How will you use it? #Apple #Siri #AIProductivity

People have often asked me, “What exactly is an instructional designer?” Even my mom can't quite grasp what I do, despite the countless times I've tried to explain it to her. They wonder, is it like being a graphic designer? Or perhaps a teacher, or even a lecturer? Let me set the record straight. Over the past decade, I've come to describe an instructional designer as a bit of a jack-of-all-trades. Yes, we design, but we also teach and manage. Think of us as the architects of learning, crafting the blueprint for education in various settings. We're behind-the-scenes maestros, making sure that the way people learn is as effective and engaging as possible. I’ve observed a fascinating trend: the relentless pursuit of AI integration, regardless of the practical implications or the actual needs it fulfills. Even as an eLearning professional I find it crucial to remember that technology is most effective when it complements human interaction, not replaces it. To create great eLearning experiences we must never forget the humanity of our learners and their needs. Some applications I've encountered are innovative and expensive, yet they seem outrageously pointless, often better replaced by simpler solutions. In my opinion there is no shame in simplicity. Fantastic write-up and resource on the "hotspot" question type for polling. We see a lot of use cases within Health Sciences, though I'm particularly fond of the use case within Business Schools and adding hotspot questions on financial statements.
