The purpose of this study is to develop a step-by-step guideline for inculcating ‘social components’ that also fits the REDD+ forest carbon project management cycle. In addition, special attention has been given to the requirements of three major carbon certification standards in the carbon market today: the Climate, Community, and Biodiversity Standards (CCBS), Voluntary Carbon Standards (VCS), and Plan Vivo. The methodology being used for the purpose of this study was secondary data research in addition to appointments and meetings with experts in the field from Face The Future, Rotterdam, as well as experts in the related fields from Wageningen Universiteit, the Netherlands. The findings from this research are expected to be useful as a guide/tool for individuals and institutions who are engaged in the fields of forestry and community development, particularly those who are involved in the planning, designing, certification, and implementation of REDD+ forest carbon projects.
