Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Academic Supervisor to lead and oversee the team of academic instructors in our Job Corps program located in Bronx, New York. The Academic Supervisor will play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality academic instruction to our students, fostering a positive learning environment, and supporting the professional development of instructional staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Instructional Leadership: Provide visionary leadership and guidance to a team of academic instructors, ensuring the effective delivery of academic curricula and educational programs that align with the goals and objectives of the Job Corps program.
  • Curriculum Development: Collaborate with instructional staff to develop and implement engaging and relevant academic curricula that meet the diverse needs of our students. Stay updated on educational best practices and make recommendations for curriculum enhancements.
  • Professional Development: Facilitate ongoing professional development opportunities for academic instructors, including workshops, training sessions, and individual coaching. Foster a culture of continuous learning and growth within the team.
  • Performance Management: Set clear performance expectations for instructional staff and conduct regular evaluations to assess their effectiveness. Provide constructive feedback, recognize achievements, and address areas of improvement.
  • Student Success: Monitor student progress and performance in academic courses. Work closely with academic instructors to identify students who may need additional support or intervention and develop strategies to enhance student outcomes.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other program departments, such as career and technical training, student support services, and administration, to ensure a coordinated and holistic approach to student development and success.
  • Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data on student performance, attendance, and other relevant metrics. Use data-driven insights to make informed decisions and improvements to the academic program.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure adherence to all program and regulatory requirements related to academic instruction. Prepare accurate and timely reports detailing academic program performance and outcomes.
  • Innovation: Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in education. Explore innovative teaching methods, technologies, and resources to enhance the quality of academic instruction.


Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in or commensurate experience in Education, Curriculum Development, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in educational leadership, curriculum development, and instructional supervision.
  • Strong understanding of instructional best practices, curriculum design, and assessment strategies.
  • Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop instructional staff.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with federal regulations and compliance requirements related to Job Corps programs.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and using metrics to drive instructional improvements.
  • Passion for serving youth and promoting their educational development.
  • Experience in working with diverse student populations and understanding their unique needs.


Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 Annually
