The academics manager, under limited supervision, performs advanced level work with moderate decision-making discretion managing initiatives that are directly aligned to the district's strategic plan. Provide business process support and project management for the Academics department. This position monitors initiatives and coordinates the alignment of the work collaborating within the department and across the division. Employee performs complex and managerial work to carry out Board of Education policies and procedures under the direction of the Associate Superintendent of Teaching & Learning.

Essential Functions
Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures
Lead and manage assigned programs/staff in the division
Update policies and regulations to align with current initiatives
Monitor timelines and progress towards milestones and deadlines
Develop and execute an operational plan, including goals and objectives with measurable outcomes, to optimize application development and integration, vendor relationships, special programs, and project management to support the strategic plan
Establish and implement best practices, protocols, policies, and procedures for conducting needs assessments, identifying, and selecting projects and solutions, engaging, and communicating with departments/schools and vendors, implementation and roll-out, and monitoring and evaluation
Assess and manage the process of designing, developing, and improving new and existing applications and integration tools
Initiate and direct root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques to clearly identify the scope and priority for projects as well as alignment to the district's strategic plan and/or solution to operational/business process issues
Manage contract process to ensure timely execution and compliance with all procurement policies and procedures
Manage vendor relationships, including data sharing agreements
Monitor budget and participate in the budgeting process
Cross-functional partnering and collaborating across district departments and management teams to ensure alignment, coordination, and planning for shared work streams and initiatives
Participate in professional development workshops and leadership training
Create an inclusive environment with positive communication/public relations

Education And Experience
Bachelor's degree in a related field required
At least three (3) years of related experience required

Special Requirements
Possess and maintain a NC Driver's License or ability to provide own transportation
