Job Description
Overton Industries designs and manufactures high-quality, long-lasting Tooling, Dies, and Carbide details for high profile industries ranging from Defense, to Consumer Goods, to Automotive. Our clients have grown to appreciate the labor savings and operational efficiencies our team and products provide to ensure their manufacturing facilities run safely and smoothly. Because of our reputation and our latest technologies, we are growing and looking for the next highly driven results oriented professional to join our team.
The Position:
This position is for a Key Account Manager based in the Indianapolis market who will report to the Sales/Division Manager. We are looking for a “Farmer”, someone who loves to grow current accounts while solving problems and has proven they can further develop an existing territory of business. This position will visit current customers and help develop solutions that address customer’s production tooling concerns. Candidates should be able to work with Purchasing and Engineering personnel on new tooling design projects and offer technical direction that matches Overton’s capabilities and expertise. This position will involve traveling to regional customer sites for regular follow up and account development. You must have prior success growing an account base with custom engineered services in a competitive market.

Requirements

- Be effective at gaining access to multiple decision makers within an account vs calling on purchasing.
- Sell consultatively and not on price.
- Be humble in their approach, yet relentless in their efforts to achieve their goals.
- Have a technical mindset and enjoy the thrill of complex/technical transactions.
- Have the ability to absorb information around a vast line of services.
- Be effective at going both deep and wide within an account to secure your position.
- Be willing and able to follow a proven sales process that may appear non-traditional at first.
- Use technology to their advantage.
- Have strong levels of responsibility and be highly coachable and trainable.
- Must possess a strong background from a technical/engineering oriented industry.
- Strong communications skills and ability to communicate technical details from the customer back to Overton engineering and production staff.
- Ability to discover and “farm” technical opportunities from customer visits and tours.
