Job Summary: As an Accounting Associate at the Mercatus Center, you will support our financial operations by efficiently handling transactional accounting duties. This entry-level role is critical for maintaining the flow of financial information and assisting with administrative tasks. This is a hybrid role that will be expected in our Arlington office a few days a week.
What You'll Do
Process and manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all transactions.
Assist with the reconciliation of purchasing card transactions and monitor credit limits and expenditures.
Support the finance team by managing incoming and outgoing funds, including preparation of deposits and maintaining detailed records.
Facilitate the monthly financial close process by preparing necessary documentation and supporting the audit trail.
Educate and train staff on financial systems such as Expensify, enhancing organizational understanding and compliance.
