The Accounts Receivable Supervisor will oversee the operations of the Accounts Receivable department, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in processing invoices, credit memos, and collections. This role reports to the Director of Credit and Collections and involves managing a team of accounts receivable clerks, maintaining financial records, and collaborating with other departments to resolve billing and credit issues.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise and mentor accounts receivable staff, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, credit memos, and cash applications.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging and credit limits, adhering to company credit policies.
- Reconcile customer accounts and resolve billing discrepancies.
- Collaborate with Sales and Customer Service to address customer credit issues.
- Prepare accounts receivable reports and metrics for management review.
- Implement and maintain accounts receivable policies to enhance efficiency and internal controls.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Directly supervise Credit & AR personnel, ensuring effective team performance.
- Develop departmental leaders and maintain staff knowledge and skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- 4-6 years of accounts receivable experience, with 1-2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and ERP systems.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel; detail-oriented and organized.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
