Our passion is providing meaningful, expert support to leaders in the healthcare insurance industry by producing analyses that bring clarity to complex financial and actuarial issues. We form long-term partnerships with our clients, which enables us to operate as efficiently and effectively as an in-house actuarial team.
We support carriers, reinsurers, and other risk takers to manage their risk and grow profitably through our comprehensive program management services, which include pricing, experience analysis, competitive intelligence, underwriting, product development, bordereaux accounting oversight and reporting, rate filings and more.
We help brokerage firms get and retain clients in the large employer market by identifying and illustrating health insurance solutions of greatest value for employers.
Job Summary
As an actuarial analyst, you will provide cross-functional support to the team, including producing reports from previously created templates for our reporting suite, running our data processing and analysis functions in SQL to produce the reports for our program management clients, and performing ad-hoc pricing, experience, and competitive analysis for our program management and broker clients.
Key Responsibilities
· Validate data for actuarial analyses
· Populate data models / import data to databases
· Expand existing models to accommodate growing organizational needs
· Perform actuarial and statistical analysis.
· Design and implement experience reporting templates or improve existing templates when needed
· Client management reporting for our broker clients
· Populate dashboards detailing key performance indicators for our program management clients
Education
· BS/BA degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics or related field
· 2 or more successful passes on Society of Actuaries (SOA) actuarial exams
Prior Related Experience
· 0-3 years of experience as an actuarial analyst in the health insurance industry
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Proficiency with Microsoft Suite to include Excel, Word, and Outlook – Power BI and Power Automate a plus
· SQL and Python experience preferred
· Be able to work in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment
· Self-motivated with high learning agility
· Strong attention to detail
· Must display a strong commitment to teamwork and ability work in a collaborative environment
· Ability to self-manage time and review the work of peers for accuracy
· Strong data visualization skills
Compensation and Benefits
· Competitive Base Salary dependent upon experience and exam completions: $75,000 - 95,000
· Merit bonus opportunities up to 8% of salary per year after first 6 months
