College of the Mainland is seeking Adjunct Psychology Instructors.

Minimum Education/Training/Experience


  • Master’s degree in Psychology OR Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in Psychology.
  • Teaching experience.


Preferred Education/Training/Experience


  • Can teach face-to-face courses.
  • Dual credit and online teaching experience.


Minimum Knowledge & Skills


Principles and practices of teaching;


Detailed knowledge of materials being taught in the specific course and program area;


Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with students, coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction;


Basic computer literacy sufficient to perform job duties;


Knowledge of student engagement techniques, learning styles, retention strategies, and learning-centered philosophy;


Experience with or willingness to learn the latest teaching/learning technologies and online instruction; and


Record keeping procedures.


Preferred Knowledge & Skills


  • Familiar with D2L
  • Ability to create original lecture videos/audio for online courses


Job Duties


Classroom and/or Online assignment(s) as needed. The most immediate need is for 1-2 lecture classes in a live classroom format (on campus).

Physical Requirements


Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, and seeing. Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
