Position: Admissions Coordinator
Salary: $22/hr
Role Overview:
As an Admissions Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring a smooth and efficient admissions process. You will liaise with hospitals, referral sources, family members, and our interdisciplinary team to guarantee a seamless transition for new residents. Additionally, you will support marketing efforts to maintain and grow our daily census.
Key Responsibilities:
Communicate promptly with hospitals and referral sources
Coordinate with family members and the interdisciplinary team to streamline admissions
Collaborate with the marketing team to enhance and maintain census growth
Monitor and identify operational areas affecting admissions; report and assist in resolving issues
Support marketing outreach by attending events to build relationships and enhance the facility's image
Explain visitor and guest privileges, restrictions, and resident care procedures
Establish and maintain relationships with local hospitals, physicians, and community organizations
Ensure accurate financial verification before admission
Maintain knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid/Managed Care reimbursement processes
Complete and report monthly statistics
Requirements:
Proficiency in Medicare requirements and insurance providers (e.g., PDPM, HMO rules, Medicare prescription plans)
Familiarity with EMR software systems
Knowledge of CMS guidelines, DOH regulations, and various insurance policies
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Existing relationships with local hospitals preferred
