Application Support Specialist

Job Title: Application Support Specialist

Location: Remote

Responsibilities

We are seeking candidates who meet the following qualifications:

  • Offer initial support and troubleshooting for software applications, efficiently resolving technical issues.
  • Act as the main contact for end-users, promptly addressing inquiries and assistance requests.
  • Analyze application issues and escalate as needed to ensure timely resolution.
  • Document all support activities accurately, including incident reports and resolutions.
  • Collaborate with diverse teams to identify root causes of recurring issues and implement permanent solutions.
  • Conduct regular application maintenance tasks, including updates and configurations.
  • Conduct user training sessions and create user guides to promote self-service and enhance user knowledge.
  • Assist in testing and deploying new software releases, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Monitor application performance and system health, performing proactive maintenance to prevent downtime.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and share knowledge with the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in application support or similar roles, with a solid understanding of software systems.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting techniques with prompt problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for professional interaction with end-users.
  • Strong customer service orientation with a proactive approach to meeting user needs.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with ITIL framework and IT service management (ITSM) processes is advantageous.
  • Experience with ticketing systems and incident management tools.
  • Knowledge of SQL queries and database management systems (DBMS) is a plus.
  • Preferred certifications: ITIL Foundation or HDI Support Center Analyst (HDI-SCA), but not required.
