Assembly Operator (Medical Device) - 1st and 2nd Shift

PURPOSE OF JOB

Produce components by assembling parts and subassemblies. Verify specifications for correct fit, dimensions, and workmanship

Responsibilities

  • Prepare work to be completed by reading assembly instructions and drawings; gathers all materials needed to complete job and verifies that the correct components were pulled and are available at their workstations
  • Assemble components by examining for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies; sets correct dimensions
  • Verify specifications by measuring completed components using scale, dynascope, calipers, and micrometers
  • Use inspection microscope to verify workmanship of product
  • Measure parts at beginning, middle and end of run (or as necessary) and records data on router
  • Follow all product handling procedures; handles product with care
  • Work as part of a team responsible for assembling an entire product or component of a product
  • Resolve assembly problems by notifying group leader or supervisor who then obtains additional resources when needed
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Document actions by completing production forms and routers/paperwork
  • Contribute to a team effort by accomplishing related goals and results as needed
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Requirements

EDUCATION:

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent (required)

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3 – 6 months of assembly or subassembly experience (Required)

POSITION SKILLS:

  • Good hand eye dexterity
  • Good communications skills both written and orally
  • Must be able to use various measuring devices to ensure proper tolerances on finished product
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to use inspection microscope to verify workmanship of product
  • Ability to perform routine, repetitive tasks with simple instructions.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions that require few changes.
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures with several potential variables
  • Ability to communicate questions/standards with department supervisor and co-workers
