Produce components by assembling parts and subassemblies. Verify specifications for correct fit, dimensions, and workmanship
Responsibilities
Prepare work to be completed by reading assembly instructions and drawings; gathers all materials needed to complete job and verifies that the correct components were pulled and are available at their workstations
Assemble components by examining for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies; sets correct dimensions
Verify specifications by measuring completed components using scale, dynascope, calipers, and micrometers
Use inspection microscope to verify workmanship of product
Measure parts at beginning, middle and end of run (or as necessary) and records data on router
Follow all product handling procedures; handles product with care
Work as part of a team responsible for assembling an entire product or component of a product
Resolve assembly problems by notifying group leader or supervisor who then obtains additional resources when needed
Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following procedures, rules and regulations.
Document actions by completing production forms and routers/paperwork
Contribute to a team effort by accomplishing related goals and results as needed
Perform all other duties as assigned
Requirements
EDUCATION:
High School diploma, GED or equivalent (required)
EXPERIENCE:
3 – 6 months of assembly or subassembly experience (Required)
POSITION SKILLS:
Good hand eye dexterity
Good communications skills both written and orally
Must be able to use various measuring devices to ensure proper tolerances on finished product
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
Ability to use inspection microscope to verify workmanship of product
Ability to perform routine, repetitive tasks with simple instructions.
Ability to follow detailed instructions that require few changes.
Ability to follow detailed procedures with several potential variables
Ability to communicate questions/standards with department supervisor and co-workers
