Under direction from the Associate Director of Employer Relations, the Assistant Director of Employer Relation develops, maintains, and builds strategic partnerships with employers leading to the expansion of full-time and part-time job and internship opportunities for UCI students and alumni.

Principal Responsibilities Include

  • Proactively developing and implementing strategies designed to increase greater awareness of UCI talent and recruiting opportunities.
  • Identifying and outreaching to prospective employers and maintaining positive relationships with current employers to increase employment opportunities for UCI students and graduates.
  • Assisting employers with the dissemination and marketing of opportunities to appropriate student populations and helping to coordinate the recruitment process.
  • Leading the marketing and selling of memberships to the Division of Career Pathways Alliance Group partner program and other revenue generating employer programs.
  • Maintaining accurate records on all outreach and engagement activities via data reports, employer recaps, CRM tracking, and other tools.
  • Educating students, staff, campus partners, and student organizations on lessons learned from the employer community, including best practices on recruitment processes and specific employer requirements.

This is primarily an externally-facing position tasked with marketing UCI and its students to the employer community and cultivating ongoing, relationships between target employers and the University. This role will require some, primarily local, travel to meet with employers and attend relevant industry networking events.

Your Role on the Team

Required

  • Demonstrated knowledge and competency with various social media - Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.
  • Demonstrated marketing and communication skills.
  • Comfort and skill in communicating with high level administrators and decision makers.
  • Strong technology skills with experience using a career management system, or other CRM/CSM, specifically Handshake.
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to supporting diversity.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to effectively work with and interact with diverse individuals and groups of faculty, staff, students, alumni, and employers.
  • Ability to convey the value of recruiting UCI students and UCI career services to a wide array of employers and organizations.

Preferred

  • Professional experience in student services, university career services, employer relations, and/or recruiting in a college or human resources environment.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $63,800 - $64,500 (Annual).

  • Ability to travel and provide own reliable means of transportation.
  • Ability and willingness to work occasional weekends, evenings, or early mornings.
  • Position eligible for hybrid work, inclusive of both onsite and remote work.
