Assistant Director of Admission

The Assistant Director of Admission is responsible for helping develop recruitment plans to support the University in meeting or exceeding new student application growth goals. Other areas of responsibility involve the recruitment of both freshman and transfer students. The Assistant Director will also supervise and develop the student admission ambassador team, play a key role in strengthening relationships with Ivy Tech and other community colleges and be an active member of the undergraduate leadership team, contributing to strategic planning and training initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct recruitment activities for both freshman and transfer students, including campus visits, college fairs, and high school presentations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with both freshman and transfer prospective students, parents, high school counselors, and other stakeholders.
  • Review and evaluate student applications
  • Evaluate high school and college transcripts, test scores, and other documents.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with Ivy Tech leaders to support reaching enrollment goals
  • Collaborate on recruitment efforts for the Madison County Direct Admit Program, and provide guidance and support to students and families involved in the program.
  • Oversee the LAUNCH program, focusing on the recruitment of high school homeschool students.
  • Assist in planning admission events
  • Using strong writing skills, assist in development of communication campaigns to support recruitment activities sent from the admission CRM, Slate.
  • Serve on the undergraduate leadership team, contributing to the development and implementation of strategic plans for undergraduate admissions.
  • Assist in setting enrollment goals, analyzing data, and developing strategies to enhance recruitment and enrollment efforts.
  • Assist in the training and onboarding of new admissions counselors.
  • Provide mentorship and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and positive team environment.
  • Develop strong knowledge of the Admission CRM, Slate in order to support the work of the recruitment team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required with a Master’s preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and G suite; experience with Slate and/or PeopleSoft preferred.
  • Qualifications of the most qualified candidates include excellent oral and written communication skills; must be able to multitask and be detail oriented, effective professional interpersonal skills, customer service mentality, clear understanding of university brand; competency in analyzing recruitment data; understanding of the innovative uses of technology.
  • Ability to articulate the mission and values of the institution; and a strong personal faith in Jesus Christ and see their work in admissions as an invitation for prospective students into a life-transformative educational experience.
