Job Description
The Assistant Director for Strategic Communications serves as the primary contact for multiple varsity athletic teams at Boston University, an NCAA Division I institution and a member of the Patriot League and Hockey East. This position handles the publicity and public relations of the assigned teams and their coaches and student-athletes primarily through GoTerriers.com and social media platforms. A main component of the position is contributing to the creative unit within MarCom to enhance outreach and engagement with fans, alumni, parents, media and both current and potential student-athletes. Other primary responsibilities include management and distribution of statistics, photos/videos and written work (bios, recaps, previews, etc.) to best tell the stories of the department and its student-athletes and staff. The MarCom unit includes communications, marketing and video (broadcasts & social media), and ideal candidates should be prepared to contribute to and be highly involved with all three components.

Required Skills
- B.A./B.S.
- One to three years in athletic communications experience.
- Knowledge of and adherence to NCAA, conference and University rules and regulations.
- Graphic design experience a plus.
