Green Acres School is seeking a full-time Assistant Pre-Kindergarten teacher to join our dynamic staff community for the 2024–2025 school year. The assistant pre-k teacher works in collaboration with the pre-k teachers and specials teachers to implement a program that promotes social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of each child in the program. Support in addressing multiple within a lively classroom atmosphere.
Responsibilities
Develop a positive relationship with each child and promote the development of self-esteem and self-control
Assist teachers in developing, planning, and executing lessons, themes and activities
Prep materials
Work in small groups or one-on-one during homecorner, choice time and outdoor play.
Provide teachers with running records or observations
To/From Homecorner groups to Specials and support Specials teachers as needed.
Support with Daily Routines
Support teachers with snack in accordance with OCC regulations.
Help children dressing for outside play and changing after accidents
Rest Time Prep
Supervise and promote developmentally appropriate learning during choice time and homecorner by engaging in interactions with children in all areas of the classroom
Support in daily classroom cleanup and maintenance of classroom toys and outdoor equipment.
Good health and ability to lift up to 25lbs. Teachers and Associates need to be able to lift children on/off swings, help with climbing on outdoor equipment, etc.
Fulfillment of all OCC teacher training, licensing, background requirements.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
A background in curricular and pedagogical innovation and classroom teaching experience relevant to this position.
A sincere love of working with children, a passion for all core academic subjects, and a love of teaching.
Curiosity and a growth mindset.
Ability to provide differentiated instruction.
Experience integrating technology into the curriculum in a way that is consistent with progressive practices.
