What you'll be challenged to do:
TranSystems has an immediate opening for an Assistant Right of Way Project Manager. The Assistant Project Manager will be responsible for preparing or causing the preparation of scope detail, estimated costs, budgets, schedules and team organization. The Assistant Project Manager will perform tasks that require specific care and experience, as well as coordinate the project team & subconsultants. The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for maintaining positive client relations, as well as managing expectations and deliverables. They will mentor and train the project team as applicable for any given project, client, regulations, and procedures to be followed. They will be well organized, well-disciplined in time and task management, able to provide clear direction and communicate effectively with the project team, management, and the client.

The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for maintaining positive client relations, as well as managing expectations and deliverables. Essential Functions Include but are Not Limited to:
- Represent the company in a professional and competent manner with the client.
- Completes all assigned tasks on time, within budget while maintaining high professional standards and client satisfaction.
- Lead project teams, develop (or cause to be developed) scope, budgets, and cost estimates for projects.
- Responsible for aiding and delivering projects of varying size and complexity.
- Responsible for managing and executing all project activities.
- Update and maintain reports, databases, file information and diaries accurately and in a timely fashion.
- Review and understand project/property/owner/tenant specific information, project maps, estimates, budgets, and schedules.
- Coordinate meetings with clients, property owners, tenants, subconsultants and other stakeholders as needed.
- Manage the preparation of offer packages, all land rights contracts, relocation notices and calculations.
- Effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information, objective, and goals, to the project team.
- Coordinate project agreements, contracts, receivables, subconsultant deliverables, etc.
- Manage the preparation of relocation plans, notices, entitlements, referrals, calculations and administer various programs as applicable.
- Help Project Manager develop and enforce internal project processes, procedures, and communication protocols.
- Track & manage specific tasks pertinent to each project.
- Provide QA/QC on all project components.
- Review project team timesheets for accuracy and compliance with scope of work and contract constraints.
- Update company/management regarding scope changes, potential over-run of budget, schedule constraints or other project/contract specific issues
- Demonstrates a level of understanding of a variety of project maps and designs (e.g. engineering, plan & profile, cross section, utility, plot plans, subdivision maps, record of surveys, etc.)
- Demonstrates a level of understanding of various types of right of way projects.
- Demonstrates a general understanding of real estate practices and principles.
- Very knowledgeable acquisition & relocation documents, notices, processes, and procedures.
- Familiar with real property vesting, title reports, appraisals, and basic environmental assessment reports.
- Familiar with legal descriptions and exhibit maps.
- Must have strong oral and written communication skills and be customer focused.
- Must be able provide clear direction to project team, communicate clients’ business needs, and interface effectively and/or collaborate with others.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships with others.
- Demonstrated ability to accurately analyze information and provide advice, solutions, and recommendations on decisions.
- Must demonstrate the ability to take initiative and accountability for the accuracy of information and for achieving results.
- Demonstrate a high level of experience planning and organizing workload, adjusting to changing priorities, and working well under pressure with minimal supervision.
- Must be self-reliant, capable of working in the office, field and on assignment.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and basic database management systems.
What you bring to our firm:
- Valid Drivers’ License and the ability to provide valid proof of auto insurance.
- Two (2) year college degree, or Project Management Professional (PMP) Certificate or High school diploma & six (6) years of qualified experience in project management in a business environment that involves the critical desired functions of this position.
- Must have the ability to modify daily and weekly work schedules as required.
- Self-motivated and maintain a positive teamwork-oriented attitude in a busy office environment.
- Able to work effectively with diverse work groups including co-workers, clients, vendors, and claimants
- Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.
