Job Overview – Assistant Trader:

We are seeking an Assistant Trader to join our team in Midtown NYC. This role involves working directly with the Head Trader on a diverse range of tasks, including trade execution, settlements, confirmations, and reporting. You will have the opportunity to meet with investors and senior management, with room to grow into a trading role in the future.

Location: New York, NY

Compensation: $130,000 – $225,000/year + bonus

Schedule: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday

Responsibilities as the Assistant Trader:

• Support the Head Trader in all trading matters, including sourcing investments, price monitoring, and divesting securities.
• Produce daily reports tracking the firm’s investments.
• Serve as the primary trader for machine-traded equities.
• Record trading activity on a blotter and order management system.
• Manage analyst requests for confidentiality agreements on prospective investments.
• Perform yield and duration analysis of the funds’ investments.
• Calculate and produce reports for various threshold analyses.
• Prepare weekly reports recapping trading desk activity and fund performance.
• Assist with investor reporting for the Marketing Team.
• Work with Compliance on pre-trade and post-trade regulatory/risk items and reporting.
  
  

Qualifications for the Assistant Trader:

• 5-8 years of experience in trade operations from a fund or bank.
• Experience with bank debt products.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
• Competency with Bloomberg.
• Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
