Entry level position to adjust first and third-party claims involving complex losses.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Complete the claims training program through classroom study, hands on training, and independent study. The training program lasts approximately six months but is determined on a case by case basis.
- Investigate, evaluate, and conclude casualty claims of complex nature. Adjustment of losses in excess of $5,000 required.
- Aptitude for first and third-party claims.
- Collaborate with teammates to effectively navigate claims.
- Investigate and evaluate coverage issues.
- Consistently support company, departmental, and managerial decisions through positive interpretation, application and communication of company information and policies to fellow employees, agents, and customers.
- Perform special projects as assigned.
- Must be coachable and learn from constructive criticism.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills required.
- Sound judgement and problem-solving skills required.
- Excellent computer skills required.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business reports, company manuals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- College Bachelor’s degree preferred. Consideration will be given to applicants with an associate's degree. Work experience in the property/casualty insurance industry is preferred but not required.
- Individuals and who have demonstrated a desire to learn through the completion of various IIA/CPCU or other recognized industry courses desired.
- Continued learning through additional courses may be required by the Manager.
