The Team You Will Join:

The Finance Investments Mortgage Loans Back Office team handles all aspects of mortgage loan accounting and reporting. Mortgage loans are an integral part of MetLife’s investment strategy, and the team provides accounting and regulatory reporting for GAAP, STAT, and local international standards as well as operational controls. The representative will support all aspects of the team and be exposed to a wide range of investment activity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in the monthly and quarterly accounting close process, which includes manual accounting entries and account reconciliations.
• Participate in the preparation of mortgage loan related financial results, including footnote disclosures for both GAAP and Statutory reporting.
• Assist with the daily processing of accounting controls functions and reporting of monthly results of control processes.
• Participate in the preparation of mortgage loan related financial results data requests as needed.
• Actively work to streamline and improve processes and provide support for projects as needed.
  
  
  

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

• BS/BA in Accounting (or applicable business degree)
• Knowledge of accounting principles and familiarity with financial statements, including balance sheet and income statements
• Strong MS Excel, Word, Outlook skills
• Excellent oral and written communications skills
• Strong organizational and research skills
• Ability to work autonomously
• Proactive in identifying and resolving issues
• A ccounting experience (in a supporting or lead role) preferred,
• Experience with investments accounting is preferred.
• Familiarity with Alteryx, PAM, and PeopleSoft Ledger is preferred.
