Azure DevOps Engineer/Jira

• We need: A Senior (10+ years) level Azure DevOps Engineer with extensive experience working with Jira. The project is a Jira to Azure DevOps migration. Candidates with experience migrating content from Jira to Azure DevOps using custom scripts or using any of the commercial tools are a huge plus. The more certifications the better. Candidates need Certifications. Candidates need long projects/good tenure at well-known companies/large enterprises.
  
  

Candidates must be LOCAL to the NEW YORK or NEW JERSEY OR Troy, MI area and COMMUTE into the office THREE TIMES A WEEK in Midtown, NYC OR Troy, MI. NO RELOCATION CONSIDERED.

Job Description

As an Azure DevOps Engineer - Transition Specialist, you will play a crucial role in migrating our development and project management processes from Jira to Azure DevOps. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand current workflows, assess requirements, and implement best practices in Azure DevOps to streamline our development lifecycle. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing Azure DevOps pipelines, ensuring smooth integration with existing systems, and providing ongoing support and training to team members.

Responsibilities

• Lead the transition from Jira to Azure DevOps, including migrating projects, workflows, and data.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and define project scope for the transition process.
• Design and implement Azure DevOps pipelines for build, test, and deployment automation.
• Configure and customize Azure DevOps to align with the organization's development methodologies and practices.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to development teams on Azure DevOps usage and best practices.
• Troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement solutions to optimize Azure DevOps performance.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, security protocols, and regulatory requirements in Azure DevOps implementation.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in Azure DevOps and continuously identify opportunities for improvement.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role.
• Proven experience in transitioning from Jira to Azure DevOps in a large-scale environment.
• In-depth knowledge of Azure DevOps services, including Azure Boards, Repos, Pipelines, and Test Plans.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD principles and hands-on experience with automation tools like Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-400: Designing and Implementing Microsoft DevOps Solutions) are a plus.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and practices.
