Job Description

  • Design, develop, and manage cloud-based solutions on Microsoft Azure.
  • Work with Azure Data Services to optimize data storage, integration, and analytics capabilities.
  • Implement and maintain Databricks environments for big data processing and analytics.
  • Develop and configure PowerApps solutions, with a focus on both Canvas and Model-driven apps.
  • Ensure robust hybrid Identity and Access Management (IAM) practices across Azure and Microsoft 365 (M365) environments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Azure services with various Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Provide technical guidance and support in the deployment and troubleshooting of cloud solutions.
  • Stay current with Azure cloud updates and new technologies, applying best practices to ongoing projects.
  • Contribute to the development of internal automation tools and processes.
  • Participate in risk assessments and efforts to remediate identified vulnerabilities, integrating security controls and monitoring mechanisms into Azure solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Convert staff objectives into technical requirements, creating appropriate architectural design(s) and implementing those designs.
  • Assess current Azure instance and create continuous improvement roadmap.
  • Define cloud systems strategy to maximize the return on IT investments, while meeting or exceeding uptime and performance expectations.
  • Design, plan, and implement Azure based systems and services in support of functional, storage, compute, data integration, and systems security initiatives.
  • Closely collaborate with IT Security and other teams to ensure new or updated solutions and services comply with the enterprise cyber security standards.
  • Proactively identify and apply system updates to prevent issues, strengthen security, tune performance, automate tasks, and manage costs.
  • Monitor Azure systems operations and address alerts, anomalies, and issues.
  • Support HA, DR, Backup, and retention policies on Azure platforms using native options and third-party tools employed.
  • Ensure alignment of Azure services with cloud networking and security policy and standards and monitor the logging of systems.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of IT policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with IT General Controls, provide needed information in support of audits and to substantiate process and controls compliance.
  • Produce documentation that allows other staff members to understand the deployment and maintain and troubleshoot it.
  • Contribute to non-cloud infrastructure projects and activities as skills and time avails.

Qualifications

Education/Technical Expertise

  • Education and experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
    • 5+ years of professional experience in Azure cloud services.
    • Plus:
      • Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Data Engineer Associate, Power Platform App Maker).
  • Proven Skills
    • Proficient in M365 suite, including SharePoint, Teams, and Office applications.
    • Solid understanding of Identity and Access Management principles in Azure and M365.
    • Strong knowledge of identity and access management principles and tools, such as Azure Active Directory, Azure AD B2C, Active Directory, and OAuth.
    • Experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud-native infrastructure, including VNet, Security Groups, and Azure Active Directory
    • Strong expertise in Azure Data Services, Databricks, and PowerApps (both Canvas and Model-driven).
    • Experience with PowerShell scripting, Azure CLI, and ARM templates.
    • Familiarity with cloud security standards and best practices.
    • Experience with networking and networking protocols & services.
    • Ability to design and deploy networks in Azure, including VNet, SG's, NACLs, and Transit Gateways
    • Demonstrated experience with Source Control systems, such as GIT and Bitbucket
    • Demonstrated experience with database systems such as Azure SQL and SQLMI
    • Ability to multi-task, establish priorities, work independently, manage time, and deliver on commitments.
