Summary
This role fills a global and critical vaccine research and development role for the Global Antigen Design/ Research and Development / Sanofi Vaccines global. The role is responsible for processing sequence and metadata from multiple databases to track pathogen evolution and facilitate vaccine strain selection. The role requires a MS in bioinformatics or related fields with significant experience in sequence analyses, database creation/management, and developing user friendly interfaces and pipelines. The role requires excellence in both technical expertise and communication.

Summary

The role requires a MS in bioinformatics or related fields with significant experience in sequence analyses, database creation/management, and developing user friendly interfaces and pipelines. The role requires excellence in both technical expertise and communication.
In this role you will
- Download and curate periodically sequence and metadata from pathogen databases
- Create and manage internal sequence databases
- Extract and generate metadata for machine learning
- Develop pipelines and web-based interfaces for data processing
- Communicate with stakeholders to summarize data
- MS in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or closely-related discipline.
- Experience in sequence (amino acids and nucleotides) analysis is required.
- Experience in meta-data analyses is required.
- Experience in data cleaning is required.
- Experience in working with AWS or other cloud based computing is required.
- Experience in database creation and management is required.
- Experience in interfacing with Genbank, GISAID, and similar databases is required.
- Experience in variant tracking (e.g. influenza or SARS-CoV-2) is highly desired.
- Experience in Python or other scripting languages is required.
- Experience in web-based interface is highly desired
- Experience in phylogeny or phylodynamics analyses is highly desired.
- Highly flexible and adaptable individual able to thrive in a fast pace and ambiguous environment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving as well as communication, scientific writing and presentation skills. Ability to put together a convincing business case.
