Business Banking Relationship Manager

This Business Banking Relationship Manager is a senior level position and is responsible for acquisition, retention and expansion of new and existing loan, deposit, and treasury relationships. This position provides exceptional customer service by taking ownership of the customer experience.

What You’ll Do

  • Responsible for developing profitable new client relationships by leveraging centers of influence, existing clients & referral sources
  • Develop and execute business development plan to achieve loan & deposit, referrals, call planning/prospecting and fee income goals
  • Target privately held businesses with revenues from $5 million - $15 million
  • Work closely with internal product partners (Treasury Management, Wintrust Wealth) to acquire new relationships and deepen existing relationships
  • Build strong client relationships to enhance the trusted advisor role
  • Take ownership of credit sheet content and quality by working closely with credit analysts on their successful and timely completion
  • Take part in bank events during and after hours
  • Responsible for understanding the impact of lending on the bank’s CRA goals

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work history
  • Strong relationship management and business development skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Solid understanding of general credit and risk principles, mitigates, and banking policies/procedures; formal bank credit training is preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years of commercial banking experience, at least 5 years of business development experience in business banking/commercial lending environment
  • Prior experience managing a diverse portfolio and complex commercial relationships within the business banking or middle market space
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability establishing client relationships and working within a team environment
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to proactively manage and prioritize workflow
