Mission:

Waséyabek Federal Group is a 100% Tribally owned, Native American SBA 8(a) small business of the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi (NHBP). WFG is part of a portfolio of companies managed by Waséyabek Development Company, LLC, a 100% Tribally owned economic development firm focused on income diversification on behalf of NHBP that reaches beyond gaming is a well-funded, experienced small business, with substantial liquid assets and experience in federal contracting. WFG is well-versed in federal contract compliance and providing outstanding support services.

Position Summary:

WFG is seeking a driven Business Manager to join our team in Lexington, KY. As the most senior administrative manager, the Business Manager will report directly to the Project Manager and will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of business operations. The Business Manager will:

  • Issue financial and invoice management, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contract and company policies and procedures.
  • Assume responsibility for chart of accounts, work breakdown structure (WBS), cost accounting and reporting, providing insights and recommendations for optimizing expenditure.
  • Establish budget control protocols, to develop and monitor budgets to ensure financial stability and sustainability.
  • Provide oversight of procurement management, including subcontracting services, procuring materials and supplies, and negotiating contracts.
  • Oversee the acquisition, utilization, and maintenance of company assets.
  • Ensure efficient utilization of IT resources and alignment with business objectives.
  • Assist with human resources management, including recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and employee relations, including Service Contract Act (SCA) and Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA).
  • Issue administrative support services, coordinating office operations and facilitating communication among team members.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of ten years of experience in business management or a related field.
  • Experience supporting a federal contracting / consulting environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business management or a relevant discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles and practices such as budgeting, cash flow, profit & loss, risk & return, and GAAP.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Experience in managing a diverse workforce in a geographically dispersed work environment.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools for business management and administration.
  • Ability to pass a government security investigation, pre-employment drug screen, and must meet eligibility requirements for a public trust clearance or higher.
  • Ability to communicate and interact with others at various levels of management, both in person and/or by telephone to conduct business.
