Job Summary
Supports the organization's system wide supply, service, and equipment procurement processes by participating in customer support activity, purchase order entry, and conducting product research. Purchases materials, supplies, equipment, and services consistent with hospital practices and standards. Adheres to all policies and procedures documented in the materials management policy and procedure manual.
Job Requirements
Education and Work Experience:
High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
Licenses/Certifications
Valid Driver’s License (DL) and must be at least 21 yrs of age or older: Preferred
Essential Functions
Purchases materials, supplies, services and equipment, consistent with hospital practices and standards and in support of quality patient care and organization contracts. Ensures that all materials and services procured by the organization are purchased in a safe, efficient, effective, and timely manner. Ensures timely price corrections and supplies purchasing responses.
Ensures administrative duties are performed such as product research, contract compliance, authorization confirmation, transaction communication, pricing, product substitution, product transportation and storage, inventory management and ordering.
Utilizes resources to identify and implement performance improvement initiatives to enhance department workflow
Maintains appropriate inventory levels for all stocked supplies by referencing the computer generated suggested order list.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
