Calibration Technician

Russell Tobin is looking for an experienced Calibration Technician to join a leading manufacturer in the Bloomington/Eden Prairie area. This is a contract-to-hire role with a pay rate of $30-$40/hour.

Area of Expertise: Collaborate with Production, fellow Technicians, and Quality Engineers to fulfill quality responsibilities:

• Manage the measurement equipment and tools calibration program for the site.
• Coordinate logistics related to equipment calibration, including meeting deadlines, generating purchase orders, obtaining quotes, and handling shipping.
• Ensure that equipment software remains up-to-date and well-maintained.
• Demonstrate strong technical ability, effective communication, and meticulous attention to detail.

General Responsibilities:

• Facilitate the equipment calibration program.
• Perform ISO/IEC 17025 accredited calibrations in-house and support external calibration service providers.
• Maintain accurate records of calibration certificates.
• Drive continuous improvements in metrology methodologies and practices.
• Monitor and generate calibration status reports.
• Keep detailed records and analyze data.
• Assist with ISO process audits.
• Update and create work instructions as needed.

Educational Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3-7 years of successful work experience in calibration and metrology.

Qualifications:

• Basic GD&T experience (ability to read prints/drawings at a minimum).
• ASQ Certified Quality Technician (a plus).
• Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 or similar quality standards (a plus).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Teams, SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint).
• Experience with corrective actions (CAPA).
• Bonus points for familiarity with CMM and Vision Systems, as well as experience with MRP systems (JD Edwards).
