This position is responsible for the planning, coordination, review, and implementation of all capital projects across the district. The role includes, but is not limited to, recommendations for future projects, detailed budgeting and reporting for current and future projects, appropriate resource allocation, project oversight, effective communication to all stakeholders, and planning, developing, and reviewing the projects’ scope of work.
Essential Duties
Project Planning:
Collaborate with the Director of Facilities and other pertinent NCSS staff to develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource requirements.
Prepare all required documents, budgets, timelines, and plans associated with COPS and ESPLOST.
Ensure alignment of project objectives with organizational goals and strategies, specifically the NCSS Strategic Plan and Capital Improvement Plan.
Coordinate project initialization meetings and facilitate project status updates through regular OACs with contractor(s), architect(s), and other relevant project personnel.
Documentation And Reporting
Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including project charters, budgets, and schedules.
Generate regular progress reports for project stakeholders and leadership.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements for local, state, and federal entities and internal policies.
Resource Allocation:
Collaborate with all stakeholders directly to allocate resources effectively for each capital project.
Monitor resource utilization and make recommendations for adjustments as needed.
Work closely with the procurement department to ensure timely acquisition of necessary materials and services.
Communication And Stakeholder Management
Serve as a central point of contact for project-related communication.
Facilitate effective communication among project team members, contractors, and other stakeholders.
Address and resolve issues and conflicts as they arise, and when necessary, inform the Director of Facilities.
Budget Oversight
Monitor project budgets, track expenditures, and report on financial performance.
Produce budget projections for future projects, which include a detailed schedule of values.
Identify areas within projects for V.E. and provide suggestions and recommendations that ensure projects remain on budget.
Risk Management
Identify potential risks and issues associated with planning, phasing, and implementation of capital projects.
Collaborate with the risk management department to develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
Regularly assess project risks and update risk management plans as needed.
Comply with all policies, procedures, and regulations.
Regular and predictable attendance is required.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Facilities.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, project management, or a related field required; master’s degree or higher preferred
Valid Georgia driver’s license and safe driving record
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Proven experience in project coordination, preferably in capital projects or construction
Ability to perform multiple assignments simultaneously
Good decision-making and problem-solving skills
Strong understanding of computers with excellent skill in Microsoft and Google applications
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
Ability to work independently and in team environments to meet goals and deadlines
