SALARY: $35,200 to $70,500 (DOE) plus applicable benefits
POSITION SUMMARY: Abides by and supports the vision, mission, values, policies and procedures of Chavez/Huerta Preparatory Academy. Creates a rigorous learning environment while teaching the Colorado State Standards as they relate to Primary Education in conjunction with any adopted school curriculum(s) to assigned students. Maintain a safe, orderly, and positive teaching environment through school wide cooperative learning and classroom management standards. Build a culture of Character by modeling and teaching the 11 Principles of Effective Character Education. Demonstrate proficiency in the Teacher Quality Standards as outlined by the Colorado Department of Education. Assists in other school programs as assigned.
Qualifications
Strong commitment to, belief in, and alignment with mission and vision of school.
Possession of, at minimum, a Bachelor’s degree.
Possess a Colorado Teaching License or be enrolled in a licensure program (preferred).
Highly qualified as defined by ESSA
Successful experience in leadership roles and management of both adults and students with strong demonstrated results.
Knowledge of and commitment to Success For all, Core Knowledge and Collins Writing curriculums
Knowledge of and commitment to Character Education
Bilingual desired
Ability to utilize school databases, including but not limited to Power School, NWEA, Alpine Achievement Systems
CMAS experience or ability with databases usage.
Knowledge of Standards-Based Education Systems and Instructional designs
Demonstrated experience in effectively solving challenging problems through positive collaborative approach and effective classroom management
Demonstrated experience in the instruction of students with varied learning styles and levels of mastery preferred
Experience and/or skills working with culturally diverse populations desired
Ability to assess data, find trends, and use information to make strategic decisions and set goals.
Strong knowledge of Colorado Model Content Standards in all relevant grades and subjects.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent technical writing, organizational skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize strategically.
Ability to approach situations with optimism and perseverance, willingness to take personal responsibility, open to and interested in feedback on performance, eagerness to continue to improve in effectiveness, and steady determination to pursue excellence regardless of the situation. Must be able to utilize interpersonal skills to deal effectively with elementary and/or middle level students, parents and community
Must possess the necessary knowledge base for the shared decision making and issues management
Must operate at the highest levels of the effective and cognitive domain
