Certification Engineer

About the Company: Our client has 80+ years of experience as an aviation safety product manufacturer. They are looking to add a Manufacturing Engineer to their growing Fort Lauderdale, FL team.

Job Summary

This position involves developing and reviewing technical documentation, specifications, and compliance test plans, coordinating testing and certification activities, investigating failures, supporting redesigns, and collaborating with various departments and customers, primarily within the commercial aviation sector.

Job Responsibilities: Review and develop technical documentation and specifications for regulatory authorities, customers, and internal requirements for certification activities. Develop and release test plans and reports for product compliance for DO-160, SAE AS8049 and FAA AC 20-146A type programs. Review and sign-off Engineering drawings with proper verification of compliance. Coordinate and oversee testing to support certification programs. Perform failure investigation and support redesign activates as required. Support customer technical inquiries, especially in the field of commercial aviation. Collaborate with production team, quality department, and manufacturing engineering on new product implementations and maintenance of current product production. Support of various development projects in the field of technical documentation.

Qualifications: 4+ years’ experience in aviation certification Bachelor’s degree in aerospace/mechanical engineering, or related engineering discipline Working experience with SOLIDWORKS or similar CAD software Strong skills in technical writing Experience in application of PDM systems preferable.
