The Opportunity 

Williams & Associates, Inc. is actively seeking a dynamic Chief of Staff to drive our organization’s programmatic and infrastructure initiatives. The person in this position will serve as the face and voice of the agency. In this pivotal role, you will be the linchpin supporting multiple projects, ensuring seamless execution across our programs and services. Additionally, your expertise will extend to bolstering administrative functions and fortifying our overall organizational infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

The role of a Chief of Staff (COS) in a nonprofit organization is multifaceted and critical for organizational success. While the specific responsibilities may vary based on the Williams & Associates, Inc.’s context, some key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Strategic Partnership with Leadership:
  • COS acts as a strategic thought partner to the President/CEO.
  • Helps set strategic priorities, ensuring alignment with the organization’s mission and objectives.
  • Provides insights and recommendations to drive impactful decision-making.
  1. Program Management and Efficiency:
  • Oversees programmatic initiatives, ensuring effective execution.
  • Manages projects, timelines, and resources.
  • Identifies areas for operational efficiency and process improvement.


  1. Community Engagement and Stakeholder Relations:
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including board members, funders, and community partners.
  • Represents the organization externally, advocating for its mission and impact.
  • Facilitates collaboration and partnerships to advance the organization’s goals.

  • Supports the board of directors by organizing meetings, preparing materials, and ensuring effective communication.
  • Assists in board development, recruitment, and governance matters.

  • Collaborates with the finance team to monitor budgets, financial health, and sustainability.
  • Helps allocate resources strategically to achieve organizational goals.

  • Shapes internal leadership communications, ensuring staff are informed and inspired.
  • Connects day-to-day work to the organization’s mission and vision.
  • Promotes a cohesive organizational culture.
