Primary Responsibilities
- Technology Strategy and Execution:
- Provide executive leadership, direction, coordination and control over the Bank’s technology programs, budget, services and resources necessary to support the mission and operations of the Bank (and applicable policies, directives, and regulations)
- Develop and implement a comprehensive technology strategy aligned with the bank's business goals and long-term vision
- Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of technology systems, infrastructure, and applications
- Ensure the security, availability, and reliability of the bank's technology platforms
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay current with banking regulations and ensure the bank's technology operations comply with all applicable laws and regulations
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (including legal, and compliance teams) to develop and execute regulatory compliance strategies
- Implement and maintain robust controls, policies, and procedures to mitigate technology-related risks
- Board Representation:
- Serve as a technology expert and advisor to the bank's board of directors
- Present technology strategies, initiatives, and performance updates to the board
- Collaborate with other members of the executive team to align technology strategy with the bank's overall business strategy
- Commercial and Consumer Lending:
- Leverage expertise in commercial and consumer lending to support the bank's asset generation goals
- Help identify opportunities for direct-to-consumer lending via partnerships with established players
- Develop & enable lending products and distribution channels to rapidly scale the bank's lending business
- Identify potential M&A and strategic partnership opportunities that align with the bank's lending strategy
- Mergers & Acquisitions:
- Provide bank technology subject matter expertise in mergers and acquisitions, ensuring seamless integration of technology systems and operations
- Assess potential technology risks and opportunities associated with M&A activities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute successful mergers and acquisitions
- Solid partnerships and industry connections with leading Fintech organizations to inform build vs buy decision making
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of proven experience in a senior technology leadership role within the Banking industry
- Demonstrated knowledge of Banking regulations and compliance requirements
- Deep domain expertise in commercial and consumer lending, including direct-to-consumer lending and partnerships
- Experience developing and executing technology strategies to enable business goals
- History of cultivating effective working relationships with cSuite leaders and key business partners to drive business agendas
- Track record of success building scalable technology solutions using Agile methods
- Track record of successful merger and acquisition due diligence & technology integration
- Demonstrated strategic thinking abilities and an enterprise-wide perspective
- Success leading global software engineering teams of 50+ people
- History of developing future leaders through coaching, mentoring & succession planning
- Experience budgeting, forecasting & managing capital budgets
- Leadership style which fosters accountability, transparent communication and innovation
- Demonstrated high level of emotional intelligence
- Proven outstanding collaboration, influencing, problem solving, conflict management and negotiation skills
- Excellent analytical, communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration) or equivalent experience
