A service of Goodwill Easterseals Miami Valley and recognized as a Dayton Foundation Leadership Initiative, Miami Valley Works is a privately funded organization with a mission to empower people in poverty to achieve self-sufficiency through long-term employment and career development. Miami Valley Works serves two clients: individuals who are currently unemployed or underemployed, and employers who have entry-level positions. The organization offers lifetime membership for its clients and services are provided at no cost.
Role Description
The Client Engagement and Outreach Specialist is a full-time position. Job duties include but are not limited to:
Increases enrollment in Miami Valley Works' (MVW) by developing and strengthening strategic relationships with community, faith-based, government, and community outreach organizations and individuals.
Markets Miami Valley Works to current and prospective Members and Community Organizations to cultivate relationships and increase overall number of Members that can move to self-sufficiency.
Supports the Member intake, orientation, and assessment processes.
Identifies partnership opportunities with other Community Organizations that will result in increased Membership and/or provision of additional supporting services to Members.
Works with GESMV's Marketing Department to develop and maintain employment advertising, marketing brochures, flyers, and other member recruitment materials.
Achieves outcome measures as jointly defined and developed with the MVW Executive Director and Director.
A few of the Qualifications
Knowledge of poverty (professionally and/or personally)
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent customer service and customer satisfaction skills
Demonstrated ability to create positive customer experiences
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Experience in social services or non-profit organizations is a plus
Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, marketing, or related field preferred
Must have a reliable vehicle and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record acceptable to Goodwill's liability insurance provider. If at any time the employee is unable to maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to GESMV’s liability insurance provider, they must immediately notify Human Resources.
Must have flexibility to work non-standard business hours (evenings and weekends) as needed for Member recruiting events.
Must maintain the ability to pass a criminal background check and random drug screens.
