JOB TITLE: Client Manager

DEPARTMENT: Student Insurance


JOB SUMMARY: The Client Manager in the Student Insurance department acts as an agent for Producer assigned accounts, managing a book of business and partnering with the service team. This role is responsible for servicing and solicitation activities, maintaining client relationships, and driving growth in the student health insurance sector.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Independently manage and service a designated book of business, including marketing, renewals, and invoicing

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their unique needs and deliver exceptional service
  • Conduct regular client meetings and strategic reviews to discuss plan performance, address concerns, and explore service enhancements
  • Handle day-to-day client servicing, resolve inquiries and complaints related to insurance products, policy changes, benefits, claims and billing
  • Market, analyze and negotiate renewals with insurance carriers to secure competitive premiums and policy terms on behalf of clients
  • Prepare and present detailed client presentations and reports to review claims data and coverage recommendations
  • Demonstrate an understanding of coverages and policy terms and clearly articulate this information as needed
  • Maintain client files and records in agency management systems and document account activities clearly
  • Prepare renewal contracts, review policies for accuracy, process endorsements, invoices and set up files
  • Assess and act upon opportunities to develop additional account revenue through cross-selling
  • Handle all escalations related to students and educational institutions effectively


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an Account Manager in the insurance industry
  • Background in Student Health preferred
  • Valid California Life & Health License (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively address complex issues and present solutions clearly
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving abilities, with strategic thinking and decision-making skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Spanish speaking preferred
