This role is crucial in empowering patients to effectively manage their diabetes through education, support, and personalized care. We are currently growing and expanding so we are looking to fill a registered dietitian position in Lake Mary, FL.
Responsibilities: .
Collaborate with the healthcare team to integrate medical nutrition therapy into the management of their patients with diabetes
Communicates information pertinent to the nutritional care of the patient through documentation in the patient's medical record
Develop and implement nutritional care plans
Utilize a patient-centered approach to encourage and support individuals in making positive changes to their lifestyle, diet, and medication adherence
Provide high quality, evidence-based care to each patient
Monitor, evaluate, and document the progress of patients in achieving their diabetes management goal
Stay current with the most recent diabetes-related technology, trends, research, policy, and standards of care
Utilize educational materials, technology, and other resources effectively to enhance patient understanding and engagement
Offer education to the patients both individually and in a group setting
Qualifications:
Current certification as a Certified Diabetes Care Education Specialist preferred
Bilingual (English/Spanish) Preferred
Minimum of 2 years of experience in providing diabetes education and counseling
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team
Strong organizational and documentation skills
Cultural competence and ability to work with diverse populations
Proficiency in using educational materials and technology for patient education
Proficiency in diabetic-related medical technologies and software
