Clinical Engineer

The Role:
We are establishing a new Clinical Engineering team to support the deployment of our technologies in hospitals across the US. This role will report to the Mechanics and Electronics Manager. This role will require frequent travel around the US, along with the occasional in person training in London.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a deep understanding of the full stack of our existing device architectures, from hardware configuration through to user interface
- Lead the deployment of CoMind devices into clinical environments, including setting up new devices, device testing, analysis, and validation
- Support the training of clinical staff in the operation of CoMind devices in clinical environments, including the Intensive Care Unit
- Lead on-site engineering for all US clinical trial sites, including frequent travel to sites
- Identify and implement solutions to any technical challenges in the clinic
- Collaborate with our engineering teams in London to optimise and implement technical solutions and roll-out fixes
- Develop a strong understanding of the medical device development regulatory framework and clinical trials processes
- Build and maintain detailed documentation of any device modifications or alterations, and support our Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs team in ensuring compliance.
Skills & Experience:
- A proven track record of finding practical engineering solutions to complex problems in the medical device industry
- Field engineering experience in a hospital environment, with a successful track record of getting the job done without disturbing patient care
- Experience with software engineering (programming, bug fixing) and computer hardware
- Basic experience with electronics (making, building, testing, iterating)
- Working knowledge of the medical device regulatory requirements (e.g. ISO 13485)
- Comfortable operating autonomously and working with geographically distributed teams.
