The Fetal-Neonatal Neuroimaging and Developmental Science Center (FNNDSC) at Boston Children's Hospital is seeking a full-time research assistant on NIH funded studies which include the development and implementation of novel, multi-modal in vivo brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) analysis techniques on adults with congenital heart disease (with Cardiology).

This Research Assistant Will Be Responsible For

  • Brain MRI data collection of adult subjects at Boston Children’s Hospital.
  • Quality control (QC) of, maintenance and organization of MRI imaging data and QC outcomes.
  • Running multi-modal MRI neuroimaging computational processes with quality assessments as part of the analyses pipelines.
  • Primarily working with associated staff and investigators on the projects, although there may be overlap and interaction with other studies within FNNDSC.
  • Attending project meetings with Cardiology and share minute taking duties.
  • Contributing to the teamwork within and between departments at BCH.

To Qualify, You Must Have

  • A Bachelor’s in Science degree or higher (computer science, electrical or biomedical engineering is preferred), AND a minimum of one year’s relevant and related work experience.
  • Strong organizational skills, as well as possessing great attention to detail.
  • A strong interest in the technical aspects of MRI acquisition and computational image analysis. Programming or statistical knowledge is preferable (shell scripting, Python, R).
  • The ability to work after daytime hours as needed and available for rare weekend study MRI sessions.
  • Great interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in highly inter-disciplinary teams within the FNNDSC research group and with BCH collaborators, hospital staff and potentially adult patients.
  • The ability to prioritize, are self-motivated, flexible and resourceful.
  • Prior research experience involving sensitive clinical populations, or any field of medical imaging is desired.
