Job Title: COBOL Developer

Location: Albany, NY (Hybrid)

We are currently seeking candidates who meet the following qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain COBOL programs and applications.
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  • Debug and resolve application issues, ensuring system reliability and performance.
  • Participate in system upgrades, migrations, and integration projects.
  • Document technical specifications, processes, and user guides.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • Provide support and maintenance for existing COBOL applications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience in COBOL development.
  • Strong understanding of COBOL programming language, JCL, CICS, and VSAM.
  • Experience with mainframe environments such as IBM z/OS.
  • Proficiency in working with relational databases such as DB2.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
