Commercial Loan Specialist

Seeking an experienced Commercial Loan Analyst to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial lending and credit analysis, with a focus on mitigating risk and maximizing profitability. You will work closely with relationship managers, underwriters, and other stakeholders to evaluate creditworthiness, structure loan transactions, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze commercial loan applications and financial statements to assess creditworthiness and determine appropriate risk ratings.
• Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, including cash flow analysis, profitability assessment, and collateral valuation.
• Prepare detailed credit memoranda outlining the strengths, weaknesses, and mitigating factors of loan requests.
• Collaborate with relationship managers and underwriters to structure loan transactions that meet the needs of borrowers while minimizing risk to the bank.
• Monitor existing loan portfolios, conducting periodic reviews and assessments to identify potential risks and opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
• Provide support and guidance to junior analysts, assisting with training and development as needed.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external clients, acting as a trusted advisor and resource.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial lending or credit analysis within the banking industry.
• Strong understanding of commercial lending principles, credit risk assessment, and financial analysis techniques.
• Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis tools, with advanced Excel skills.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards related to commercial lending.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments.
