Responsibilities

As an Associate Manager, Strategic Communications you will oversee the Strategic Communications offering to include customer delivery, people management, business development (growth), and practice development. In this role within the Advisory Services Practice (ASP), we are looking for a team member to support our federal customers at several agencies. Several of our accounts have a governmentwide scope, supporting all agencies including the Office of Management and Budget.

Responsibilities

As an Associate Manager in our Advisory Services Practice, you will play a valued role on the team with significant exposure to internal and client leadership. As an Associate Manager, you will be expected to:

Communications Management

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy and plans to support the customers goals and objectives
  • Manage the customer’s communications tools and channels to include social media and website content management approaches
  • Write and edit communications artifacts and products for our customer’s internal and external communications
  • Build and maintain our customer’s relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Identify and refine our internal, ASP, communication frameworks and tactics for future customer engagements and practice growth


Client Engagement and Management

  • Manage day-to-day interactions with executive level customers and their stakeholders
  • Coordinate with REI Engagement Manager(s) to sequence priorities and keep the Engagement Manager and other teammates informed on the progress of work, while escalating risks and issues
  • Anticipate customer needs and make recommendations for future initiatives and process improvements


Own client deliverables

  • Oversee and manage assigned workstream(s) to ensure work products and deliverables are provided on schedule and with high-quality
  • Collaborate with clients to create the messaging and content that aligns with the organization’s goals and objectives which includes the DEIA program
  • Be the primary author on multiple customer ready deliverables
  • Take ownership of project deliverables, timelines, and requirements for assigned projects, workstreams, and tasks
  • Manage work on multiple concurrent projects, workstreams and tasks, ensuring that work meets deadlines, is at required quality levels and at expected REI profitability targets
  • Work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail, quality, and professionalism
  • Excel in a team environment to deliver solutions that meet and exceed our customer needs
  • Possess exceptional oral, presentation, and written communication skills
  • Thrive in ambiguity and ability to identify win-win solutions for our customers, aligning multiple stakeholder requirements and customer needs


Manage team members and their work

  • Support the Engagement Manager in project/task delivery
  • Supervise and manage the work of team members
  • Manage and provide input towards performance reviews for team members
  • Be a role model, coach, and mentor to staff
  • Have a willingness to share information, train colleagues, and be coachable and open to feedback


Contribute to ASP’s Communication Service Offering and business growth

  • Develop the strategy and plan for maturing the Advisory Service Practice’s Communications Service Offering.
  • Lead execution of the plan for maturing ASP’s Communication’s Service Offering, including the coordination with team members from across the firm to develop marketing collateral and participate in capture efforts
  • Contribute to organic growth and business development for ASP and support other REI business development initiatives
  • Author sections of technical responses for proposals


Qualifications

Required:

  • 5 or more years of relevant experience
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Ability to obtain a Federal clearance
  • Previous experience in initializing, developing, implementing and maturing a Communications Service Offering for a services organization
  • Previous experience in initializing, development, implementing and a communications strategy and plan at a Departmental level or above


Preferred:

  • A master’s degree in a relevant field
  • Previous experience at a consulting or communications firm
  • Previous experience working at or with a federal or state government agency
  • Experience implementing marketing and branding programs and initiatives
  • Experience building and implementing collaboration tools to facilitate communications and knowledge management


Education: Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.

Clearance: US Citizenship required.
