Communications Lead

Our organization is undergoing a major digital transformation initiative. To ensure successful implementation, we are seeking a skilled and experienced communications professional to join our team. You will play a critical role in developing and executing a comprehensive communication strategy that effectively engages our diverse stakeholder groups throughout the transformation journey.


Under general supervision, this individual will fulfill a lead role in ensuring that all internal and external communications for the digital transformation are defined, planned, implemented, and measured successfully. The Communications Lead ensures success by carrying out agreed upon plans with attention to timing, frequency, content, and details, and by helping to maintain strong engagement, positive change impact, and successful transformation overall. The focus of this role will be to refine and manage the communication plan, and work with project team members to design appropriate communications for internal and external groups


Duration: 12 mo to start

Location: Remote

Pay Rate:$50 - $60/hr DOE (W2 and option for benefits)


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leverage data and insights to understand stakeholder needs, craft messages that align with the organizations' priorities, and resonate with the target audience. (e.g., employees, executives, customers, etc.,).
  • Create clear and tailored communication materials with an iterative approach, ensuring efficient feedback loops and rapid gatekeeper approvals.
  • Develop and implement a content calendar for ongoing communication throughout the transformation journey.
  • Leverage branding to create content for the digital transformation website, campaigns, presentation decks, and other documents that can be used for formal and informal communications.
  • Share and track messaging in all forms and channels (e.g., emails, presentations, social media posts, internal newsletters).
  • Tailor content to specific audiences through appropriate formats (e.g., written, visual, video) and channels (e.g., Website, Town Hall, All Staff). Change Storytelling:
  • Craft creative and engaging narratives that explain the "why, what, who, and how" behind change, and inspire support.
  • Evolve the narrative to maintain excitement and engagement across the organization, ramping up as we prepare for testing, launch, post-launch support.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, communications management, marketing, or organizational development.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in communications, marketing, or a related field. Proven ability to develop and execute clear, concise, and compelling communication materials for diverse audiences.
  • Experience in using various communication channels (e.g., email, social media, internal communications platforms) to reach optimal awareness and engagement levels. Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to tailor content for different audiences. Project management skills to manage communication initiatives on time and within budget.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills to work effectively with a team and stakeholders.
  • Experience with Sharepoint or similar platforms
