Communications Specialist

This role will partner with leadership in supporting communication strategies with the goal of enhancing the organization's brand both inside and outside of the company.
You will…
- Create communications using a variety of channels, including emails, newsletters, intranet sites, presentations, signage, virtual events, and websites.
- Work with subject matter experts, to write and develop targeted communications that clearly illustrate plans to support the business initiatives and increase team member engagement.
- Works collaboratively with internal stakeholders and partners to curate creative, inclusive content across a range of internal and external communication channels and formats.
- Provide support and ideas for the communications editorial calendar.
- Create, develop, support, and pitch ideas for communications initiatives.
- Provide input and support to communication-centric projects from conception to completion.
- Work with Leadership teams, as well as business partners to develop communications strategies and narratives that support and amplify the organization's business initiatives. This may be specific to one area or multiple areas within the organization.
- Support a variety of communications and employee engagement initiatives that have a measurable impact on culture, team member experience, and brand-building efforts.
- Keep an eye on industry trends and identify when/where we should look to adopt new systems and tools to keep communications methods and channels current and relevant
- Provide a high level of attention to detail and accuracy; able to self-edit and proofread.
- Manage relationships and projects that include stakeholders from across the enterprise of varying levels and titles.
- Participate in other projects or duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing or a related field is required.
- Three (3) plus years of experience in communications, journalism, public relations, or marketing.
- Experience with AP style writing and formatting required.
- Experience with a wide range of digital content channels and tools.
- Or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Strong writing and storytelling skills and a passion for bringing creative ideas to life.
- Ability to create simplicity out of complexity and develop clear, concise, and compelling communications that align with the company’s brand and messaging.
- Ability to self-manage time and projects, prioritizing and balancing across multiple competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be proficient using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and marketing automation platforms. Experience with photo and video editing software/tools is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, organizational and project management skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal.
- Ability to work independently, to take initiative, and to function effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to communicate and interact with team members of all levels, including senior level leaders and executives.
- Ability to execute on the integrated communication strategies that drive results.
- Ability to think proactively and strategically to help team design solutions for various projects and challenges.
- Ability to navigate a complex, matrixed organization.
- Ability to design creative communications products and experiences that have impact.
